Had the opportunity to work on some character concepts for an upcoming Indie game made by Jamin Games Studio, Skelemental: Monk's Fury (previously called Insurrection).
With the Wolf concept I wanted to create some new armor for the character based on one of the bosses of the game. I thought it was a good idea because that way we can make the players more interested and excited to defeat the bosses, knowing they can win their equipment and have better stats.
With the Karate Gi concept I wanted to create some new armor for the character. I thought it was a good idea to go with the karate gi because it felt different from the rest of the costumes and somewhat funny to have in game, adding the fire around the character would make it more interesting, less bland but also fitting for the aesthetic of the game with the elements and fighting themes. I thought it would be a nice idea that this armor would buff the melee and fire stats for the character.
It was a really fun experience working with the director, where I learned and improved a lot, doing this style of rendering I managed to practice shapes silhouettes, color and values. Learned more about the industry and the workflow of things. I like working on this game and I'm looking forward to the release.
Got permission to post this before the game comes out.
Game coming out soon.
